My acceptance letter.
With this blog and my love for scrapbooking…, I decided to document my Disney College Program experience. Hopefully this will actually go into my scrapbook that I plan to make during my CP adventure. With that being said, I will go ahead and tell you about my acceptance letter.
It was a friday evening around 8 o’clock. I had just gotten off of work from a shift at McDonalds. I usually get home around seven thirty. My ipod was going haywire on me so I was trying to fix it. As I was checking my ipod after I had updated it, I randomly checked my email to see if it would work. My eyes automatically shifted to the the third email down. There it was…
Walt Disney College Program: CONGRATULATIONS!
I about died. Tim (My step-dad) was sitting across me on his computer as I squealed like a pig on the couch. I assume he knew what the commotion was about. I got up from the couch and ran up to him, pointing out my email. He had to read it to be sure of what he was hearing. He gave me a hug and a high five as I ran across the house to greet my mother with the news. She was in her bedroom with the Sugar Gliders. She told me a Congratualtions as I knew what was going in her head…”holy crap,is this really happening?!” I then told my sister, who was in our bedroom, she told me that she knew I would get it and gave me a high five.

I have waited to hear back from Disney for about five months now. Trust me, it was TORTURE waiting for results. I had blabbed about it on Tumblr every.single.day. I ranted about it for ages and all of my facebook friends, family and tumblr friends all had wondered if I heard back from Disney yet. I applied back in August when applications came out.
I applied the first hour they came out. I hear from the DCPspring2012 facebook group and that’s how I knew the apps were out the moment I saw. I had hoped that I would hear from Disney on my birthday. No news. One day, I received an email from Disney casting that I had been pending. Pending was good. It meant that you weren’t denied but you weren’t accepted either. I had to wait again tohear back from them for an offical answer. The email said that I would hear by december 19th. and So I waited. Then October passed. November passed. December passed. I heard from Disney TWO DAYS before the deadline. and I was accepted into the program for Spring 2012.

A lot of things went through my mind at that point. I already picked out classes for next semester. I am almost done with my AA degree. What about my job? What about my kitty? What about the love of my life? What about my sister? My mother? Orlando?

I took a night thinking about before I selected that “accept” button. I decided then to go ahead and accept it. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I might as well take it while I have the chance to. I figure this would help me find what I want in life and major in when I transfer to the University of Central Florida. This will help me grow as a person. This will help me network. This will help me meet incredible people and learn different cultures from each of them. I have already met some on the DCP facebook group and here on tumblr. With this, comes the new exploration of roommates, apartmates, job, rent, bills, learning how to take care of myself. Not only that but I am able to write down on my future resumes’ that I have worked for a fortune 500 company. This will be an incrediable experience all in itself.
